Three More Images of Megamouth #6

Megamouth #6 was a docile creature measuring 16 feet, 1 inch.
He showed no signs of aggression to divers.

Megamouths are plankton eaters who eat tiny planktonic shrimp and sea jellies, usually found in the deep sea during the day and shallow during the evening hours.

When tracked electronically for almost three days, Megamouth #6 swam within 30 feet of the surface at night, to as deep as 500-700 feet during the day. He was probably feeding on the plankton found at those depths during the same hours of the day.

The slight injury to Megamouth #6's face and mouth were caused by the drift net in which he was captured. The wounds were most likely fully healed in only a few months or less!
